After the wild ride on the 12th stage of the Tour de France, three extremely difficult days are now on the agenda. The first of three mountain stages takes place on today’s national holiday in France with the finish at Grand Colombier.
The last time the peloton pedaled onto the Grand Colombier was in 2020, when Tadej Pogacar put his compatriot Primoz Roglic in his place. While three years ago two more difficult mountain classifications in the 1st category had to be completed, the ascent to the Grand Colombier is today the only real indicator of the day for the 167 remaining professional cyclists in the tour field.
