Mildred Wilson is now completing her third “Tough Mudder” race – and that at the age of 83.

The “Tough Mudder” race is a special obstacle course that is about teamwork, willpower and cohesion. It’s not just about best times – it’s also about the challenge itself.

In the five-kilometer run, obstacles are overcome that are primarily aimed at teamwork and fun.

Mildred has also gone beyond her own limits – and for the third time.

She prepared by playing pickleball and going for a run. She also consulted her doctor beforehand.

In 2019, the American will take part in the race for the first time with her son Danny.

In 2020 she will compete again in honor of her late husband.

Mildred and her son use the third attempt to raise money for an organization that builds wells in Africa.

The response on social media has been consistently positive.

The race has become a tradition for Mildred and her son.

At 83, she is the oldest competitor to ever successfully complete the Tough Mudder race. With her performance, she proves that for some people, age really is just a number.
