More sensitive minds would apologize a day later for an appearance like that of SPD General Secretary Kevin Kühnert laid down on Sunday evening. The audacity with which Kühnert formulated the SPD’s claim to power in North Rhine-Westphalia seemed almost worse to many observers than the defeat of the SPD. A day later, Kühnert could have brought a little humility to Frank Plasberg, especially as a representative of a government that wants to embody a new political style. But humility is not Kevin Kühnert’s favorite discipline.
