If you ask Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie if she can explain this country, which oscillates between brutal terrorism and internationally acclaimed artists, between online scammers and successful start-up entrepreneurs, between mega-churches with millions of followers and daily kidnappings, she laughs out loud. “I don’t know, maybe it’s in the water we drink. Maybe we’re brilliant and we don’t always use it in the best way.” When they do something, they do it properly, that’s what they want to say.
