Clint Eastwood is there with the rarely shown western “Sinola”.
Neither an elegiac Hollywood western nor an explosive hit by Sergio Leone, “Sinola” by “The Magnificent Seven” director John Sturges eke out a shadowy existence in Clint Eastwood’s filmography and is currently not available on any of the well-known streaming platforms. The Western, which has a strong cast with Robert Duvall as the antagonist and John Saxon as the ally of Clint Eastwood’s character Joe Kidd (also the original title of “Sinola”), still skilfully combines the elements of the Spaghetti Western with its American models and is just because of the great camera work by Bruce Surtees is still worth seeing today.
