According to the federal government, Russian President Putin said in a telephone call to Chancellor Scholz that nothing would change when it came to paying for Russian gas supplies to European contract partners. The payments would therefore continue to be made exclusively in euros and, as usual, would be transferred to Gazprom Bank, which is not affected by the sanctions. The bank then converts the money into rubles.
