After five seasons, “Studio Schmitt” is over: Tommi Schmitt has announced that he is stopping his ZDFneo show.

Sad news for Tommi Schmitt (34) fans: The moderator ends his popular ZDFneo show “Studio Schmitt” after five seasons. He announced this on May 30th in the latest episode of his podcast “Gemischtes Hack” with comedian Felix Lobrecht (34). The last issue is scheduled to be broadcast on Thursday evening (June 1, 10:15 p.m.).

“I’m quitting it of my own free will. The reason is that I want to do something else again,” explains Schmitt. However, making this decision was not easy for him, it was “very drastic and emotional”. Schmitt would reveal more details in the farewell episode on Thursday.

“I cried the whole time”

He is very proud of his show, “especially who was there as a guest”. He also thanks the production company Seapoint and his responsible ZDF editor for having “trusted him at a time when I had never been in front of the camera – which was clearly noticeable”. When he announced his decision to the ZDF team, he also cried. “My voice just broke off completely, I just cried the whole time,” he admits.

“Studio Schmitt” has been broadcast weekly since April 2021. A total of 61 episodes of the entertaining late-night show ran on ZDFneo.
