Tom Cruise wows the crowds in Windsor. The Hollywood star wasn’t just in the country for Queen Elizabeth II’s anniversary.
Tom Cruise (59) wowed the crowd in Windsor. En route to Queen Elizabeth II (96) 70th Jubilee celebrations according to the Daily Mail several fans the Hollywood star. The actor appeared on the Queen’s honor show ‘A Gallop Through History’ tonight. He served as one of four presenters at the screening of several centuries of British history.
Cruise’s exact role in the event was still a secret as he roamed the streets of Windsor. The superstar came to the rehearsals in a casual outfit. He was wearing jeans and an open jacket over a V-neck shirt. The whole ensemble tone on tone in navy blue. He later slipped into a tuxedo.
Police and security guards had to force Cruise through the crowd. The actor waved to the fans and greeted some with the typical Corona punch.
Skeptical voices about Tom Cruise’s commitment
When it became known that the American Cruise would play a role in the celebrations for the Queen’s platinum anniversary, there were also critical voices in the royal family. Some observers feared the Hollywood star could overshadow the queen and the celebrations.
TV star Alan Titchmarsh (73), one of the moderators of the gala alongside Cruise, defended the decision of the makers. “It has raised some skeptical comments, but it has also raised awareness of the event,” he said. “Has anyone asked Tom Cruise if he has a problem with being overshadowed by me,” Titchmarsh joked.
In town for “Top Gun” premiere
“We were lucky that Tom Cruise happened to be in town,” a source told the Daily Mail, “and he was keen to get involved. His participation gives it a very special touch.”
Tom Cruise celebrates the premiere of his new film “Top Gun: Maverick” in London on May 19. Prince William (39) and Duchess Kate (40) had previously received an exclusive insight into the aviation spectacle. The sequel to the action classic from 1986 will start in German cinemas on May 26, 2022.
