Even before the third season of “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” was broadcast, it is now said that after season four it should be over.

It looks like Jack Ryan (John Krasinski, 42) is set to retire as a serial hero and CIA agent. As the US site “Deadline” reports, the fourth season of the Amazon Prime production “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan”, which is currently in the making, is also said to be the finale. However, the end has not yet been officially confirmed, rather the industry side claims to have found out about the decision from an anonymous source.

Should this prove true, the end of the series would be sealed before the third season could celebrate its premiere. Filming has been delayed due to the pandemic, and an exact release date is still unknown. It is reportedly still in post-production and will probably end up on Amazon Prime Video in the middle of this year.

Successor already found?

But even after season four, fans apparently don’t have to say goodbye to the “Jack Ryan” universe entirely. Instead of the series with Krasinski, which the star also produces, Amazon is already working on a subsequent spin-off. This is dedicated to another well-known character of the series, Ding Chavez, according to the report. A potential main actor for the part has already been found – “Heart of Steel” star Michael Peña (46) could then go on a terrorist hunt.

Busy on screen too

Jack Ryan, created by thriller writer Tom Clancy (1947-2013), has traveled a lot over the past few decades. Various Hollywood stars have also slipped into the role of the CIA analyst on the big screen.

For example, Alec Baldwin (64) in the war thriller “The Hunt for Red October”, Harrison Ford (79) in “The Hour of the Patriots” and Ben Affleck (49) in “The Attack”. And Chris Pine (41) was also allowed to embody him – in “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit” published in 2014. Krasinski is the fifth and last actor to receive this honor.
