Max Langenhan wins again. The tobogganer cannot be beaten at the World Cup in Whistler either. The doubles pairings celebrate their first victories of the season.

Three races, five podiums: the last one At the World Cup of the year, Germany’s tobogganers performed brilliantly in Whistler, Canada. In the women’s doubles, world champions Jessica Degenhardt and Cheyenne Rosenthal won ahead of Dajana Eitberger and Saskia Schirmer.

In the men’s doubles, the six-time Olympic champions Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt prevailed ahead of the Austrians Thomas Steu and Wolfgang Kindl. Hannes Orlamünder and Paul Gubitz came third.

Langenhan wins again

At the start of the Canada World Cup, World Cup runner-up Max Langenhan also won the next World Cup race of the season. Like a week ago in Lake Placid, the 24-year-old won the single-seater competition ahead of world champion Jonas Müller from Austria – this time with a lead of 0.255 seconds. “I made a few small mistakes. I’m very pleased that it was still enough,” said Langenhan.

At the dress rehearsal for the 2025 World Luge Championships, Langenhan won his ninth win in a row across all seasons. “It’s a good feeling that you leave here with,” he said, looking ahead to the title fights after next. At the World Cup opener in Lake Placid, the 24-year-old won not only the single-seater competition but also the sprint competition. Three-time Olympic champion Felix Loch finished the single-seater race in Canada in 26th place. David Nössler came in 14th.

The men’s and women’s doubles pairs won their first wins of the season. “In general, we can be really satisfied,” said Jessica Degenhardt. The duo was 0.080 seconds ahead of Dajana Eitberger and Saskia Schirmer. “As very young beginners, it’s fun to deliver such a good performance right from the start. We’re slowly getting into the flow and hope that we can take that with us into the new year,” said 32-year-old Dajana Eitberger. Together with the young Saskia Schirmer, it was already the third podium finish in the third race for the 2018 Olympic silver medalist in the single-seater.

After fifth place in Lake Placid, Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt got their first win of the season in Canada. “We are extremely happy with the result. It gives us confidence,” said Wendl. The highlight of the toboggan season is the World Championships in Altenberg at the end of January.
