The German lugers miss victory in Oberhof. Nevertheless, there is reason to celebrate with the success of the Austrian Jonas Müller.

Max Langenhan once again missed out on victory on his home track in Oberhof. At the World Cup, the luge world champion had to settle for second place at the same place as he did a week ago.

The overall World Cup leader was 0.076 seconds behind the Austrian Jonas Müller. With third place, Olympic champion Felix Loch secured a World Cup podium place for the first time this winter. After a very strong second round with a best time, he was 0.098 seconds behind Müller.

“The sled was a bit too slippery in the first run. In the second run I made a big mistake in turn 12 and the momentum was completely gone,” said Langenhan. Loch was happy about his second round: “It was such that you can leave here with a good feeling. Oberhof is now out of the luge for us, it’s time for us to see something different again,” said Loch.

At the end of the season there are two World Cup races in Sigulda, Latvia, next weekend and the weekend after that.
