When Brad Pitt takes a seat in the racing car, Tobias Menzies will probably be there too. The Netflix star is set to star in his Formula 1 film.

The film doesn’t even have a title yet, but two stars have already secured a spot. British actor Tobias Menzies (49) will appear in Brad Pitt’s (59) upcoming Formula 1 movie, as reported by the industry magazine “Variety”..

It’s not yet clear what role the star of Netflix hit “The Crown” will play in Apple Studios’ production. He could perhaps venture into the cockpit and embody a rival Pitts. He is set to play an aging ex-driver returning to racing. Damson Idris (31) and Kerry Condon (40) will also play.

Turns on the track

The shooting for the film should therefore take place, among other things, at real Grand Prix in the summer. Pitt was already seen at the track last year to prepare for his role. The Formula 1 Twitter account published a picture of Pitt from the garage of the McLaren F1 team in October 2022.

In the paddock, Pitt met director Joseph Kosinski (49) and film producer Jerry Bruckheimer (79), among others, Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali (58) and all the team bosses to talk to them about the planned film. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton (38) is in the pit lane as a producer and consultant.
