To raise awareness among schoolchildren, the town hall transforms trash cans into basketball hoops

It promises passionate three-point shooting sessions at recess. In Montpellier (Hérault), to make pupils aware of cleanliness, the municipality has decided to transform the baskets installed near schools into… basketball hoops. The trash cans have been painted orange, and a small sign encourages people to make their “most beautiful basket”.

This device was created so “that the gesture of throwing becomes a real child’s play”, indicates the town hall of Montpellier. “By aiming for a basketball hoop and no longer just a trash can, throwing becomes a challenge, fun and allows you to create reflexes. »

It was the Municipal Children’s Council of Montpellier, which came together to find a solution to encourage residents to throw their waste in the bins, which had this funny idea. For now, six “basketball baskets” have been installed in five schools in the city.
