The Naples Ultras are definitely not like the others. After the monstrous festivities that followed the club’s first league title since 1990, this week they gave manager Luciano Spalletti a very special gift: the steering wheel of the Fiat Panda they stole from him in 2021, when they demanded his departure.
“We’ll give it back to you if you leave”
The scene was relayed on social networks by journalist Salvatore Amoroso. We see the Italian coach in the team’s locker room, facing a large box dropped by hooded supporters. In front of them, he opens and unpacks something he doesn’t recognize right away… before bursting into laughter when they tell him what it is.
In October 2021, the ultras of Napoli claimed responsibility for the theft of the coach’s car, saying on a banner deployed in front of the stadium: “We’ll give it back to you if you leave”. Fortunately for them, Spalletti has more ideas. Love and hate are never far away in football.
