Will the mystery of the missing Titan submersible be solved? According to the US Coastal Week, debris was discovered during the search for the underwater vehicle. They will now be examined.

In the search for the missing submersible “Titan” with five people on board at the wreck of the “Titanic” in the North Atlantic, the rescue teams discovered debris on the seabed. This was announced by the US coast week late Thursday afternoon (CEST).

“A debris field was discovered within the search area by an ROV near the Titanic. Experts within the unit,” it said. “Experts are now evaluating the information.” It is therefore still unclear whether the debris is the remains of the missing submersible. The US Coast Guard announced a press conference in Boston at 9 p.m. (CEST). According to the invitation, it should be about the results of the diving robot missions.

Contact with the “Titan” was broken on Sunday during an expedition to the wreck of the “RMS Titanic”, which sank in 1912 at a depth of around 3800 meters. Since then, search parties have been in a race against time. It is suspected that the oxygen reserves on board the vehicle will run out this Thursday. Most recently, two unmanned and remote-controlled underwater vehicles were lowered into the depths of the Atlantic, one of which has now encountered the wreckage, according to the Coast Guard.
