Rich and famous thanks to scams? After the success of the Netflix documentary “The Tinder Swindler,” scammer Shimon Yehuda Hayut has landed a Hollywood agent. And wants to have her own dating show.

It should be clear to anyone who has seen the Netflix documentary “The Tinder Swindler” that Shimon Jehuda Hayut is bold: For years, the Israeli posed as diamond heir Simon Leviev, cheated women on Tinder out of their savings and even more money. How bold he really is is only now becoming clear: After the success of the Netflix show, Hayut now wants to benefit from his dubious fame. As American media reports, he landed a Hollywood agent for this.

According to TMZ.com he is managed by Gina Rodriguez, which already has some US reality stars under contract. Allegedly, Hayut really wants to get his own TV show – and it’s supposed to be about dating, of all things. Apparently he has a program similar to “The Bachelor” in mind, in which women compete for him. He also wants to write a book and give dating tips in a podcast. Sound crazy? It is, considering what he’s accused of.

The Tinder scam is still wanted in several countries

Hayut is said to have stolen around ten million dollars, his game was always the same: he pretended to naive women on Tinder that he was in love and had a big wallet, only to tell a short time later that he was in danger and needed it urgently Money. The Norwegian Cecilie Fjellhøy took out ten loans alone to lend her supposed boyfriend more than 200,000 euros. Money she never saw again. In turn, he used this money that women gave him to impress other women. He has been in prison several times and is still wanted in several countries for fraud and counterfeiting offences.

Sources close to Hayut say the Netflix documentary completely misrepresented him and that he wants to clear himself and his name. Maybe it’s just based on a model of success that was just being observed: The story is reminiscent of the fictionalized Netflix series “Inventing Anna”, which is about the fraudster Anna Sorokin. She also swindled large sums of money and she also benefits from Netflix fame. She has just signed a contract for her own TV show. Which proves: audacity wins.
