Roger Federer’s new neighbors: Tina Turner and her husband buy an estate in Switzerland

Tina Turner has lived in Switzerland for a long time, albeit for rent. Now she has bought a property there – a more than 100-year-old country estate.
Tina Turner and her husband are probably among the most prominent residents of Switzerland. Now the two have bought a domicile from the Alpine republic: a 100-year-old country estate on Lake Zurich.
Erwin Bach, the husband of the 82-year-old artist, confirmed the purchase in an interview with the Zurich-based “Handelzeitung”. The property “undoubtedly belongs in the high-end segment,” the paper continues.
Tina Turner’s new home is worth almost 70 million euros
“Because of the pandemic and its consequences, we – like many other Swiss people – unfortunately do not travel,” quoted the Bach newspaper on Thursday. “With this property we have found a new weekend retreat in the immediate vicinity.” The paper estimates the value of the new property at 70 million Swiss francs (around 67 million euros).
The rock singer Turner was born in November 1939 in Brownsville in the US state of Tennessee and can look back on a long, successful but also turbulent stage career in the early years. She has been living with Bach for many years in Küsnacht, around 20 kilometers further north, in a rented house, also directly on Lake Zurich.
With the purchase of their new property, the two will soon become neighbors of the Federers: tennis player Roger Federer and his wife Mirka some time ago bought a property a few kilometers south of Stäfa in Kempraten, where extensive construction is currently underway. Before that, they are said to have viewed the estate, which Turner and her husband eventually bought.
Singer and her husband have lived in Switzerland for more than 20 years
According to media reports, Turner and Bach, who was born in Cologne, have lived in Switzerland since 1994. She and stage manager Bach married in 2013 after a long relationship.
The “Handelzeitung” notes in its article about the celebrity real estate purchase that a world hit by Turner from 1992 was called “Simply the Best”. “Only the best should be when it comes to home ownership,” conclude the Swiss. The country estate is surrounded by greenery, is screened off by shrubs and has a stream and a pond. The estate included ten historic buildings and a swimming pool. There is also a boat dock.
The press reports do not reveal whether the two will keep their rented home or move to their new country estate.
