Tina Müller becomes boss at the natural cosmetics manufacturer Weleda – economy

Tina Müller first became known when she organized a large and successful advertising campaign for the car manufacturer Opel, under the still well-known slogan “Reparking in the head”. The 54-year-old manager, who keeps making headlines, was actually mainly active in the cosmetics industry, had worked at Wella and Henkel before her trip to the car industry – and was then head of the Douglas perfumery chain from 2017. Last year she had to vacate the post there.

Now Tina Müller has a new job – at a special company. On October 1, 2023, she will take over the management of the cosmetics and pharmaceuticals manufacturer Weleda. The company describes itself as the world market leader in natural cosmetics and anthroposophic medicines. Profit maximization is not the top priority, it is also about sustainability and environmental compatibility. Founded in 1921, Weleda has its headquarters in Switzerland and employs around 2,500 people. The company was in the red last year. Sales fell slightly in 2022 and amounted to 413.8 million euros – significantly less than at Douglas or Opel.

Weleda announced on Monday that Müller should expand international business and drive the growth course of the entire group. “It’s primarily about sustainable management in harmony with people and nature. And Weleda earns – of course and maybe because of that – money,” said Müller Picture And added: “After a difficult year like 2022, Weleda is back on track and should grow profitably in the next few years. That was also a reason to get me.” Natural cosmetics are currently in trend, there is a lot of potential for even more growth with innovative products. But she would also like to position the pharmaceuticals sector even better.

Müller had expanded online trading at the Douglas cosmetics group and promoted its integration with the branch network. Your successor at the stock market candidate, the Dutchman Sander van der Laan, is now to trim Douglas for profit.
