Star makes history with ‘Vogue’ cover

Timothée Chalamet has been honored with his cover of British “Vogue” which is unique in the history of the magazine.
Timothée Chalamet (26) is not only one of the most sought-after actors in the world, but also a fashion icon for many. Consequently, it’s no surprise that the “Dune” star has received an honor that no one before him has been able to boast of. He is the first man who alone adorns the cover of British “Vogue” in the upcoming October issue – a novelty in the 106-year history of the magazine.
Previously, men had only landed on the cover when accompanied by women. For the first time, by the way, the Austrian actor Helmut Berger (78) alongside Marisa Berenson (75) in 1970. Since 2017 Edward Enninful (50) has been managing the fortunes of British “Vogue” as editor-in-chief and he too initially struggled with the cover to leave alone to a man how he writes.

“Do men have a desperate need for more places to shine, I wondered. The answer is, of course, no.” But at the same time he wanted to say goodbye to the old-fashioned view and way of thinking that fashion “is strictly only designed for the gender with which one identifies.
