Shortly before the film’s release, Timothée Chalamet admitted to stealing something from the film set. It is “something big”.

Actor Timothée Chalamet (27) has apparently had a very special item in his wardrobe for several months: the “Wonka” actor secretly had part of his costume taken from the film set. “I don’t think anyone knows that I took something from the costume,” laughs Chalamet at a press conference for “Wonka” in London and mischievously reveals: “It’s something big.”

When director Paul King (45) reacts with striking shock, Chalamet opens: “I took the coat with me… er, maybe.” King then jokes: “We need it back! It was hand-embroidered for months.” Ultimately, however, the actor explains that there were five versions of the purple coat throughout the entire filming period. He only took the coat from the reshoot home with him.

Olivia Colman has new curtains thanks to “Wonka.”

However, Timothée Chalamet is not the only thieves from the “Wonka” cast: Olivia Colman (49), who plays the laundry owner Mrs. Scrubbit in the film, also helped herself on the film set. The Oscar winner explains that she admired the beautiful linen fabrics behind the counter on set throughout the entire shoot. In the end, she took some of them with her, which now have a special place in her home: “I made curtains out of them,” says Colman.

Hugh Grant on “Wonka” role: “Couldn’t have hated it more”

Actor Hugh Grant (63), on the other hand, probably didn’t take any of his costume home with him. In the film, the Brit embodies an Oompa Loompa with green hair and orange skin who has been shrunk to dwarf size thanks to computer technology. About the filming, the 62-year-old explained: “I had 17 cameras in my face the whole time and no idea what to do. I did my best. Then after two months they asked: ‘Can you come back and do that again? make?’ This went on for two years.”

To this day he doesn’t know which body movements are animated and which are his own: “It’s very confusing. Computer simulation is very confusing,” the actor admits. “I couldn’t have hated the whole thing more,” he jokes. “I hate making films. But I have a lot of children and the expenses have to be paid.”

“Wonka” can be seen in German cinemas from December 7th. The film is a prequel to the famous story “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl (1916-1990) and tells the life of the young chocolatier Willy Wonka (Chalamet). Also appearing in the film are Keegan-Michael Key (52), Rowan Atkinson (68) and Calah Lane (18).
