Daring performance by Timothée Chalamet (26): The US actor showed himself shirtless on the red carpet of the Oscars in Los Angeles. Nothing but bare skin was visible beneath an unfastened, cropped Louis Vuitton jacket.
According to media reports, the sparkling lace-trimmed blazer presented by the “Dune” star is from the label’s women’s collection and was presented at Paris Fashion Week. The only thing adorning Chalamet’s skin underneath was Cartier jewelry. He wore several matching rings with a striking necklace. The actor paired the thin jacket with matching dark high-waisted trousers and patent leather ankle boots.
Will he become a trendsetter?
According to Vanity Fair, it could be the first timethat a star walked the red carpet at the Oscars shirtless. Timothée Chalamet seems to have delighted many fans with his bare chest under the blazer designed by Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquière (50). On Twitter he is celebrated as a “rock star”. Another user joked: “I want to thank those who made this outfit, Timothée Chalamet’s parents and God.”
But not everyone was so thrilled with the candid look flaunted by Hollywood’s rising star. Another comment in the social media was about it: “Someone should throw a blanket over Timothée Chalamet and call his mother.”
The stars wear comparatively traditional red carpet outfits at the Oscars, the men usually appear in classic tuxedos. Chalamet had previously used the most important event in Hollywood to make fashion statements. He wore an all-white Berluti suit in 2018. Two years later, he caused quite a stir with a blue Prada tracksuit.
