The police were looking for a missing person in Timmendorfer Strand with a large contingent. The 18-year-old now has to bear the costs of the assignment. Just two weeks ago, another young man drowned there.

In Timmendorfer Strand in the district of Ostholstein in Schleswig-Holstein, a large number of people searched for a missing swimmer on Sunday night. After about an hour, however, the police found that the 18-year-old was at home, a police spokeswoman said. Seven boats and a diver were therefore used to find the young man.

The 18-year-old went swimming with three friends after midnight, slightly drunk, and according to their statements, did not get out of the water again. It was initially unclear why he went home without informing his friends. According to the police, the 18-year-old has to bear the costs of the search operation.

There have already been several rescue operations in Timmendorfer Strand this year, around two weeks ago a 20-year-old died after a swimming accident.
