Tim Lobinger died: he kept raising the bar – sport

Whether with the baton or with words: Tim Lobinger, the first German to jump more than six meters, never lost a fight. And when cancer got the better of it, it celebrated its victories all the more. An obituary.

From

Thomas Hahn and Benedict Warmbrunn

In his last few months, he still celebrated a few big victories. Sometimes just a few steps were enough, like the ones he walked down the aisle with his daughter Fee at her wedding last summer, supported by his eldest son Lex-Tyger. A few days earlier, Tim Lobinger was still in the hospital fighting cancer again. At the wedding, he later told the brightly colored, the doctors only released him because his blood counts had suddenly improved. But then he ran, arm in arm with his children.
