Til Schweiger celebrated a special reunion. For the sequel to “Manta, Manta” he shoots again with the cult car.
Til Schweiger (58) has at Instagram behind the scenes of the shooting of “Manta, Manta 2”. “My baby is back!” wrote the actor and director for a short video clip that captured his acclaimed reunion with the eponymous cult car. And it’s not just the yellow and blue car on the set that is reminiscent of the previous film.
In the clip, which according to the caption was made in Dortmund, Schweiger wears a white shirt and jeans, just like his role Bertie in the cult film from 1991. The action comedy “Manta, Manta” became a cult film in the 90s. At the center of the action are the Manta driver Bertie (Schweiger) and his buddies, who compete in street races against other car freaks in the Ruhr area. For Schweiger in particular, the film meant his final breakthrough as an actor.
First reunion picture
He also directs the sequel and has brought two very special women on board. His daughters Emma, 19, and Luna, 25, will star alongside their father in Manta, Manta 2. There will also be a reunion with Martin Armknecht (60, Axel), Tina Ruland (55, Uschi) and Michael Kessler (55, Klausi). the latter published In mid-June a first reunion picture and at the end of June a snapshot his set chair to celebrate the first day of shooting for the sequel. Tina Ruland did the same and posted as well a picture her chair. She wrote: “Without words. Finally. Uschi. Manta Manta 2.”
