Til Schweiger in an exclusive interview with Stern about freaking out and alcohol

Freakouts, harassment, even violence on set – the list of allegations against Til Schweiger is long. With the star He spoke for the first time about the allegations – and about his relationship to alcohol.

Berlin, an inconspicuous entrance into a surprisingly green backyard with loft apartments. Til Schweiger stands in the archway, smiles crookedly and says: “Five minutes early. But come in!” The 59-year-old thought for a long time whether he should have a conversation with Stern. He hasn’t given any interviews since the spring – since serious allegations were made against him in a “Spiegel” article. There was talk of harassment and freaking out during the production of Schweiger’s latest film “Manta, Manta – Second Part”. From an overload of employees. Of violence on a day of filming. And that Schweiger was drunk on set.

The production company Constantin commissioned an independent law firm to examine the allegations against Germany’s most successful filmmaker. The result: The vast majority of those surveyed did not perceive a “general climate of fear”. But it remained undisputed that Til Schweiger’s apparently uncontrolled alcohol consumption repeatedly caused problems during filming.

Mr. Schweiger, how are you?
I’m a little nervous about this interview, but other than that I’m actually feeling pretty good.
