Director Til Schweiger is said to have turned up drunk while filming in the spring. In the star he now expresses himself for the first time.
In the spring, several employees who worked on the set of “Manta Manta – Second Part” accused Schweiger in a “Spiegel” article of, among other things, appearing on the set drunk and hitting an employee. Schweiger emphasized that he did not get drunk regularly. “No, I doused myself exactly once, and that was at night in my hotel,” he told the star. He celebrated with old companions and later had a film break. The next morning he left for work still drunk. When the production manager tried to stop him from filming, he slapped him in the face. “It was a catastrophe for which I am still ashamed today and for which I alone am responsible.” He later apologized to the production manager, who forgave him.

When asked, Schweiger emphasized that he was not an alcoholic. “No. My doctor, Prof. Dr. Florian Holsboer, explained this to me: An alcoholic is a person whose everyday life is determined by the strong urge to consume alcohol. In addition, his body rebels when he stops drinking. ” That doesn’t apply to him. “We’re working on making sure I don’t lose control anymore. It’s been working great for six months, but I still have to be careful.”
