What was it like to be a Russian agent licensed to kill? Apparently, the salary was enough for an expensive apartment in Moscow, a Porsche Cayenne was waiting in front of the door. Sometimes, we learned, the agent went on business trips that lasted several weeks. To Kyrgyzstan, for example, when there was an upheaval there in 2010 and the president had to be rushed out of the country. At home in Moscow the mother-in-law came to help Katja, the agent’s wife, with the children.
