“I’m still missing the Orlinski and the Asmik, but I have a merchant.” Anyone who only understands the train station here is definitely not at home in the world of opera and need not be nervous on Saturday, March 23rd at 10 a.m. At this point, a whole lot of Munich residents – and fans all over the world – will be anxious or with an optimistic “a little bit, what’s going on?” they will pick up the phone, click on ticket buttons on the Bavarian State Opera’s homepage or physically stand in the box office at Marstallplatz: Ticket sales for the 2024 Opera Festival (June 28th to July 31st), “desired seats subject to availability”.
Sounds a bit like a leftover ramp, which is not entirely wrong, as the first day of sales traditionally took place in January, and all those who ordered in writing have already received their festival tickets. However, you weren’t necessarily lucky with your wish list either. Nice, preferably cheap seats for Puccini’s “Tosca” (with Jonas Kaufmann and Ludovic Tézier) or for the festival song evening with countertenor Jakub Józef Orlinski are no longer available this Saturday either. But at least there are still a few standing and listening places for these performances.
Tickets are also available from Saturday for the two premieres, György Ligeti’s “Le Grand Macabre” (June 28th), which opens the festival this year, and Debussy’s “Pelléas et Mélisande” (July 9th). cover up.
