The A38 in the Mansfeld-Südharz district is closed in the direction of Leipzig after an accident. According to the police, a truck driver collided with an illegally parked truck here during the night. The vehicle, which was reportedly parked at the end of the acceleration lane in the Helmetal parking lot, then slipped into the ditch, overturned and lost part of its load. Both truck drivers were injured in the accident.

07:17 am | Federal roads in the Altmark affected by farmers’ protest

The farmers’ protests have already begun in the Altmark. The federal highways B189 and B190 are affected from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The farmers have registered two meetings in the area of the Elbe bridge in Wittenberge (Brandenburg) and the Seehausen intersection. The Elbe bridge should be closed every half hour.

6:46 am | Rail strike: DB with emergency timetables until Friday

Things are becoming problematic today not only on the roads, but also on the rails, because there is another strike at Deutsche Bahn. Since the night also in passenger traffic. The GDL union has called on the train drivers to stop work by Friday evening. Until then, an emergency timetable applies. According to information from MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT, almost no ICE or IC trains will run in Saxony-Anhalt.

There will also be far-reaching restrictions in regional transport. The plan is for the S-Bahn to run every hour between Halle and Leipzig and every four hours between Halle and Wittenberg. The regional express from Magdeburg to Halle will be replaced by buses. Private and tourist railways such as Abellio, Wipperliese or Harzer Schmalspurbahnen are not affected by the strike. But problems can arise here too, for example if GDL dispatchers in the signal boxes go on strike. You can find out exactly what works and where in this overview:

6:13am | Important transports should get through

Despite blockages, ambulances, fire departments and other important transport must be allowed through the blocked driveways at all times. That’s what the police explained. Individual driveways should also always be kept clear for logistics in the regions affected by the flood.
