When searching for the fugitive, police officers in Thuringia had to look very closely – because the man had chosen a very special hiding place.

Wrapped in a carpet and hidden in an attic, a man has… Thuringia want to avoid arrest. There was an arrest warrant for dangerous bodily harm against the 39-year-old, which is why several patrol cars were deployed in Sömmerda on Wednesday, as the Erfurt state police station reported on Thursday.

In search of the criminal, the officers combed through a residential building and finally found him in the attic. Wrapped in a carpet and hidden behind a table, the 39-year-old tried to stay out of prison. “However, the trained eyes of his colleagues thwarted his plan,” the police report said. With his bags already packed, the man headed behind bars for the next nearly 590 days.
