The body of a three-year-old girl was discovered in a family washing machine in Paris last night, according to the Paris prosecutor’s office, which confirms information from the newspaper The Parisian.
According to initial elements collected by a police source from 20 minutes, the mother of the family was preparing dinner between 7 p.m. and 10:15 p.m., without paying attention to her five children, 18, 16, 13, 7 and 3 years old, who dine at different times and go about their business. The father returning from work around 9 p.m. had his meal, then at the end of his dinner he looked for his daughter, according to this same source, without finding her. The whole family then mobilized to look for the child, including from the neighbours, given that the child had sometimes managed to escape from the apartment by opening the front door.

It was the father who found the child in the washing machine, door closed, around 10:30 p.m. and who immediately called the emergency services, who took care of her in critical condition. Doctors performed cardiac massage but were unable to save her, and she was declared dead around 11:30 p.m. According to this police source, no trace of blows or injuries was visible on the child, and the door of the household appliance is a window that closes automatically.
According to the prosecution, an investigation into the causes of death has been opened, and the investigations have been entrusted to the brigade for the protection of minors.
