Three suspects arrested after attempted burglary at Alexis Pinturault

Two months after the attempted burglary at the home of alpine skier Alexis Pinturault, three suspects were arrested by the gendarmes, learns 20 minutes from sources close to the case. The gendarmes from the Annecy research brigade, in Haute-Savoie, followed their trail to the Paris region, where they arrested them on Wednesday October 11. At the end of their police custody, the three men were indicted and placed in pre-trial detention. A fourth person, who was also arrested, was released without prosecution at this stage.

On the night of July 27 to 28, three hooded and armed burglars tried to enter the athlete’s home in Saint-Jorioz, through the window. Awake, the winner of the Big Crystal Globe in 2021, who was with his partner, managed to put them to flight. An investigation was then opened by the Annecy public prosecutor’s office, then a judicial investigation was opened, entrusted to an investigating judge. For several weeks, investigators used the testimonies collected, images from surveillance cameras, and biological samples taken. They also cross-referenced telephone data.

Seasoned criminals

The investigators thus managed to identify a team of criminals, made up of people “who are not first-time offenders”, explains to 20 minutes squadron leader Marlène Gillet, who commands the Annecy company. “We are on a team that is not local, which makes our investigations all the more complicated,” she emphasizes.

Before adding: “We have a prevention policy that is developing. If you are going on vacation, it is possible to report it to the gendarmerie, which then allows us to increase our surveillance of vacant homes. You should also remember to inventory valuable items. And in the event of a burglary, you should definitely not touch anything until the police arrive, so as not to pollute the scene. »
