three pool drownings in Toulouse, including that of an 8-month-old baby

Drowning dramas followed one another in Toulouse during the long weekend of July 14. The police confirms that a fifty-year-old was found dead in his swimming pool, in the Busca district, on the night of Saturday to Sunday. It was his octogenarian father who gave the alert around 1 a.m. but the emergency services could not do anything to resuscitate him. The police favor the accidental thesis: the victim, whose health was precarious, may have suffered from discomfort while trying to cool off on a scorching night.

The accidental track is also favored in the drownings which claimed the lives of a 75-year-old woman and her 8-month-old grandson on Friday. The tragedy took place in the town of Préserville, south-east of the Pink City. The infant’s mother had entrusted him briefly to his stepmother. On her return, she looked for them everywhere, before finding the bodies in the swimming pool which was covered. The autopsies of the two victims are due to take place on Monday.
