A new proof of appeasement? Three people will be tried in September for showing middle fingers and insulting Emmanuel Macron during the president’s visit to Sélestat, Alsace, the Colmar prosecutor confirmed on Saturday.
These three demonstrators with no criminal record, two men and a woman, will appear on prior admission of guilt for contempt of person depositary of public authority, explained the prosecutor, Catherine Sorita-Minard, confirming information from the newspaper L’Alsace. A fourth person had been arrested and taken into police custody, but his case was closed because the offense was insufficiently characterized.
