Three new people prosecuted after the fire at the town hall door

The investigation is progressing after the fire at the monumental wooden door of the mayor of Bordeaux, two hours after the end of a demonstration against the pension reform, on March 23. After the arrest of a 27-year-old suspect and his indictment on March 25 for “destruction by incendiary substance”, we learn this Saturday that three new indictments have taken place in this case, including the damage to the community is estimated at nearly three million euros.

They were indicted “heads of degradation of public property by incendiary substance in a meeting and participation in a group formed with a view to preparing violence against people or destruction or damage to property during demonstrations on the public highway” , reports the parquet floor of Bordeaux.

Charged criminal records for two arrested

A first 37-year-old man lives in Bordeaux and his criminal record bears traces of 21 convictions “including two for degradation of an object of public utility by dangerous means, in addition to a recent history for acts of degradation by dangerous means of the town hall of Tours last January”, specifies the parquet floor in its press release. He is the only one of the defendants to be indicted on the two counts referred to, damage to property and participation in a group to prepare violence, and he is also the only one to be placed in pre-trial detention.

The second respondent is 25 years old and lives in Villenave-d’Ornon, in the Bordeaux area. His criminal record bears the trace of six convictions, for theft and traffic offences. He was indicted on the sole count of participation in a group formed with a view to preparing violence and placed under judicial supervision. He is forbidden to come to Bordeaux, to demonstrate there and to join the two other indicted persons. He must also report to the police station once a week.

Finally, the third suspect, aged 19, is domiciled in an integration center in Bordeaux. He received the same prosecution as the 25-year-old, but he is also forbidden to leave Gironde.
