three injured after a hydrochloric acid leak in a Breton factory

An incident occurred this Wednesday morning on the site of the Goëmar company in Saint-Jouan-des-Guérets near Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine), we learned from the firefighters. While a truck was delivering hydrochloric acid, a leak occurred in the morning and about 1,500 liters of this toxic and dangerous product spilled on the ground. Alerted, around forty firefighters, including a team specializing in chemical risks, quickly intervened to dilute and recover the hydrochloric acid.

During the intervention, which ended in the course of the afternoon, the fifty employees present on the site were confined, precise West France. Three of them were slightly injured, two having been taken to hospital in Saint-Malo. Any risk of pollution was ruled out after this incident.
