Three days after the start of a rave party, 5,000 participants are still present

“About 800 people left the scene, but 5,000 participants are still on the site this morning,” said the Ain prefecture in a statement Monday morning. Since Friday evening, thousands of people have gathered on land in the town of Lompnas, 70 km from Lyon, to participate in an unauthorized rave party. State services expect departures “from the beginning of the afternoon” and recommend avoiding the sector “until the beginning of the evening”.

The organizers will be asked to restore the site, according to the prefecture, which condemned the organization of the party “in total disregard of the basic rules of health and fire safety”. She specifies that the rave takes place “on a protected natural site which is absolutely not conducive to the organization of such an event”. The mayor of the town and the landowners of the land filed a complaint for illegal occupation with the gendarmerie services.

60 people taken care of by the emergency services and four evacuated to the hospital

Since the start of this undeclared party, organized in a space classified as a natural area of ecological, faunal and floristic interest (ZNIEFF), the emergency services have taken care of 60 people, four of whom were evacuated to a hospital, according to the prefecture.

Help is always on site, in particular for fear of discomfort due to the heat. The department of Ain is on “orange” heat wave vigilance, again this Monday. Several approved Civil Security associations (Civil Protection, Red Cross, White Cross, French Rescue and First Aid Federation) ensure a constant presence of four to six first aiders. Rescue doctors also take turns in the center of the village and 30 firefighters from Ain are present.
