Thanks to the connection to Instagram Threads has a huge head start. Shortly after its launch in the USA and more than 100 other countries, over 100 million users have already registered. But since then the number of users has fallen sharply.

How “Threads” works
Threads can be downloaded from the app stores to the cell phone or accessed in the browser.
To use Threads, you can easily use your Instagram account to log in and customize your own profile for Threads. Posts from threads can be shared in your own Instagram story or via a link on another platform with just a few clicks.

The forced connection to Instagram caused criticism when the app was launched worldwide. Although users can “deactivate” their Threads profile, the service can only be deleted if the Instagram account is also deleted. According to Meta, work is underway to operate the accounts separately in the future.
