After the layout, the personalities. The organizers of the 2024 Olympic Games revealed this Friday the route of the flame, from Marseille, on May 8, to Paris on July 26, during the opening ceremony.
They also revealed the names of some celebrities, among the 10,000 people who will take turns to carry the sacred fire. They are astronaut Thomas Pesquet, comedian Jamel Debbouze, restaurateur Thierry Marx.
Four captains among the torchbearers
As already announced at the end of May, Laure and Florent Manaudou, Olympic swimming champions, will be among the four captains chosen by Paris 2024, for whom all these ambassadors “each embody the energies of the relay in their own way”.
In total, the Olympic flame, lit on April 16 in Olympia, Greece, and transported by boat to France, will cross more than 400 cities and around sixty territories, including five overseas.
