The athlete in his own private life: Amazon Prime Video tells the story of Thomas Müller’s rise to soccer world champion in a new documentary.
From his humble football beginnings in rural Bavaria to his start at FC Bayern Munich to his professional career on national and international football fields: As Amazon Prime Video announced on Friday (November 3rd), fans of Thomas Müller (34) can look forward to a documentary about the German footballer’s life.
Filming for the production with the working title “Thomas Müller” is already in full swing. The aim is to “accompany Thomas Müller’s outstanding playing career into the later phases”. Viewers can hope for a look behind the scenes of the public figure Thomas Müller. It’s about his sporting highlights and low points, his daily challenges, “to remain a selfless teammate, loyal friend and responsible husband despite the hype surrounding himself.”
Thomas Müller is looking forward to the exciting project
“I’m looking forward to the exciting project of a documentary about me! The path from the village square in Pähl via FC Bayern Munich to the world championship title was a story straight out of a fairy tale for me,” Thomas Müller himself looks back. As in every athlete’s life, there are moments in his life that he no longer wants to experience. “The film delves into Thomas’ great career at his heart club, FC Bayern Munich, while at the same time he plans to shine one last time with the German national team,” announces Anouk Mertens from the production company NEO Studios.
When does the documentary about Thomas Müller start?
According to Prime Video, the documentary consists of interviews with Thomas Müller, his family and other companions as well as intimate behind-the-scenes footage. It is not yet known when the sports documentary will be available on Prime Video.
Müller has been playing for FC Bayern Munich since he was eleven. Since 2010 he has been part of the German national football team, with which he became world champion in Brazil in 2014. He is the player with the most German championship titles.
