After ten years, Jan-Gregor Kremp is leaving the ZDF crime series “Der Alte”. Actor Thomas Heinze has already been chosen as his successor.

Bang on “The Old One”! Actor Jan-Gregor Kremp (59) leaves the successful ZDF crime series at his own request. The broadcaster announced this on Tuesday. “After ten years of ‘The Old Man’, the time has come to think about a change – especially since sixty is getting close,” says Jan-Gregor Kremp himself, explaining his decision.

“In his role, Jan-Gregor Kremp has created unforgettable, profound, exciting, humorous and warm-hearted moments and has made a significant contribution to the success of the series since 2012. We look forward to further new episodes with him, which will first be broadcast by spring 2023,” explains Frank Zervos, head of the ZDF main editorial office TV film/Series I.

Thomas Heinze will be his successor

A successor has already been found. Actor Thomas Heinze (57) will be the new “old” from the summer of 2022. “We are particularly happy to have found an actor in Thomas Heinze, with whom we can continue the tradition of a characterful central investigator figure,” says Zervos happily.

Kremp had his first assignment as chief inspector Richard Voss in the episode “Königskinder” in September 2012. ZDF will broadcast eight new episodes of “Der Alte” with Kremp from Friday, March 18, 2022 at 8:15 p.m. – including a series special on Good Friday as well as the 450th episode of the ZDF crime series at the end of April.
