In the RTL show “Because they don’t know what’s happening”, Thomas Gottschalk, Barbara Schöneberger and Günther Jauch have to fight their way through crazy party games with various star guests. This weekend, however, there was also a fight with and about a piece of clothing.
The big RTL evening show “Because they don’t know what they’re doing” is the planned chaos anyway – with a fantastic cast. With Thomas Gottschalk, Barbara Schöneberger and Günther Jauch, Germany’s most well-known moderators throw themselves into the entertainment fray – and sometimes bravely make a monkey of themselves if it puts the audience in a good mood. The popular show even ran twice this weekend, on Saturday and Sunday. The viewers experienced the probably weirdest moments in the Saturday edition – and a piece of clothing was to blame for that.
And that seemed completely unproblematic at first glance: Barbara Schöneberger appeared in an elegant black suit. Loose-fitting blouse with pretty embellishments, modern, slightly flared pants, with a sexy accentuated waist. The 48-year-old joked that she was the only one who didn’t come on stage in “pensioner beige” that evening – because colleagues Jauch and Gottschalk actually wore the inconspicuous, light colors somewhere between cream and light brown, which are usually associated with the comfortable – be associated with the functional favorite clothes of older people.

But no matter how chic Schöneberger looked, her teammate Thomas Gottschalk apparently disliked her legwear. Probably also because Barbara Schöneberger herself complained a few times that the tight-fitting pants made it difficult for her to tie her shoes or bend down.
The 72-year-old finally asked his colleague somewhat drastically: “Take off your pants, then it’s quiet!” The ambition probably went through something with the blond moderator. Barbara Schöneberger left the pants – of course! – and still did well in the crazy games she had to endure. For example, people cooked, played music or pressed their faces against a plexiglass pane. Funny photos of that game amused many fans, especially on Twitter afterwards.
Gottschalk dissed the pants again
Nevertheless, Gottschalk had not yet made friends with his colleague’s elegant outfit even in the last game of the evening. When Barbara Schöneberger competed against singer Alvaro Soler in the final and had to hang on a climbing wall, he advised her again that she should better take off her bottom: “The pants worries me!” Schöneberger took the remark relaxed as usual and even wanted to know: “Because it’s slow, or tight?” And here the “Wetten, dass ..?” moderator didn’t choose the more charming answer option, but the drastic one: “I’m afraid we’ll hear a bang today!” He joked. Not the fine English way, Thommy! Of course, there was no bang – all moderators and show guests survived the evening fully clothed and unharmed.
