This is the line-up of the “Superbloom” festival 2022 – Munich

A pop star’s popularity is also measured by how often he or she appears on the news. After that, Rita Ora is currently very high up. She constantly produces news: the cooperation with the Dutchman Sam Feldt on the dance track “Follow Me” (one of many hits with producer DJs), her involvement in the upcoming Disney prelude to “Beauty and the Beast”, her trend setting with tooth jewelry, a “sweet couple pic” with her partner Taika Waititi, various model assignments, of course reports from her jury jobs on “The Voice” in Australia such as Great Britain, “The Masked Singer” or “America’s Next Top Model” . Rita Ora, the child of Kosovar Albanian immigrants, has built her career in exemplary fashion from her teenage days. Now at 31, she’s getting everyone’s attention, not just on the radio for numbers like ‘Let You Love Me’ (her record: most top ten singles by a UK female artist), but for what she’s about say, for example her complaint about “age discrimination against women in the music industry”.

Ora fits like a rose in the flowerbed for the new “Superbloom” festival in early September in Munich’s Olympic Park. Its artistic director Fruzsina Szep is just as concerned with promoting women as showing attitude, even in pop music. In this respect it is good news: Rita Ora will be on the main stage in the stadium at the two-day open air. In the second line-up package, more female numbers have just been announced: British singers Little Simz and Mimi Webb, American rapper Megan Thee Stallion, singing actress Allie Neumann, and Willow, daughter of Will Smith.

40 acts for the big stages

All 40 acts have now been found for the big stages: the main attractions include David Guetta, Anne May Kantereit, power club, Glass Animals, Kaya Yanar and Stromae are now joined by the US hip-hopper Macklemore, who is giving his only German concert at the “Superbloom” this year, the grime hero Skepta and Calvin Harris. The Scottish dance-popper, who lives in Los Angeles, is considered the richest DJ in the world, with a total income of 215 million euros, due to a number of worldwide successes such as “We Found Love” with Rihanna or “One Kiss” with Dua Lipa. With that he even leaves David Guetta behind (3rd place), but that DJ Mag 2021 once again voted the world’s best DJ. Oh yeah, Harris also dated Rita Ora once, which made some headlines.

But since things are more important at the moment, Fruszina Szep has also invited the human rights activist and author of the bestseller “Exit Racism. Learning to think critically of racism” Tupoka Ogette. She is supposed to speak to the festival guests on the main stage with a message of greeting.
