This is how Germany has fared at the ESC so far

Germany’s ESC record is mixed. In the past, the contributions from the Federal Republic often ended up in last place. Only the singers Nicole and Lena have been able to win the title so far.
The German singer Jendrik got a paltry three points at the ESC 2021 and thus came in 25th place – only England was even worse with zero points. It was the continuation of a negative series for Germany. Michael Schulte alone has not occupied one of the last places in the past six years – he took fourth place in 2019 and had ended the meager previous years for the time being. One can only hope that the song “Rockstars” by Malik Harris will do better in 2022.
Most recently, Roman Lob made it into the top ten in 2012. The number 1 song by Lena Meyer-Landrut is now twelve years old, like the graphic from extra indicates. Singer Nicole won the first title for Germany in 1982. In terms of overall history, the German participation in the ESC has been rather unsuccessful – the Federal Republic of Germany has been last or tied with the last place nine times.
