This homeless aid association will soon be homeless

She is the only employee of the association. Founder of Solidarity bubbles, Laure-Anna Galeandro-Diamant spends most of her time leading a quest that has become desperate. Forced to leave its premises on rue des Veyettes in Rennes this summer, its association for the homeless must absolutely find a new storage place for its hygiene products. “The building that was made available to us free of charge is going to be rented. We looked to rent a room but it’s unthinkable, we don’t have the budget. The situation is critical”, explains the founder of the association.

Bulles Solidaires carries out patrols every Monday evening in the Rennes metropolis with its shower camper. A mobile bathroom that makes it possible to meet people on the street and offer them a private hygiene space. A small parenthesis in the very harsh daily life of the street. Every Thursday evening, its volunteers roam the streets of Rennes on the occasion of a marauding on foot. Hygiene products offered by local companies are distributed to people in precariousness.

Increasingly in demand, the association collected more than five tons of products last year. “And we are already smashing our records for the start of the year. It’s worrying because we won’t have a place to store them soon, ”laures Laure-Anna Galeandro-Diamant. His association has already had to give up donations for lack of space to keep them. Bulles Solidaires has already contacted the Rennes municipality and solicited its network, but finds itself at an impasse.

The risk of having to stop everything

She is looking for a storage room of “minimum 60 m²” in the Rennes metropolitan area with the only imperative of being accessible by public transport because “not all volunteers are transported”. But the local will not be brought to receive the public. The association is ready to pay a small rent but remains unable to match the price on the private market. What if she couldn’t find it? “We would be obliged to put an end to the actions of our association”, warns its founder. Around 5,000 people benefit from Bulles Solidaires donations each year.
