A driver was arrested on the A9 motorway at the wheel of his truck in the Pyrénées-Orientales, by the gendarmes of the Pollestres motorway platoon and the motorized brigade of Céret. According to the military, the man, accompanied by his ten-year-old son, did not have a license to drive this category of vehicle, the technical control had been exceeded for several years and the truck was not insured.
By checking the goods, they discovered a shipment of 9,900 liters of alcohol that the driver allegedly explained that he had bought in Spain to resell in his general food store in Marseille. Bottles bought in cash and for which he could not present any invoice.
Placed in police custody, he will soon answer for his actions before the criminal court of Perpignan. If there is a conviction, “all the bottles will be completely destroyed”, specify the gendarmes.
