Thirty years in prison for killing his lover by throwing her off a cliff

A 42-year-old electrical mechanic was sentenced on Wednesday to 30 years’ imprisonment by the Savoy Assize Court for the murder of his lover. A verdict in accordance with the requisitions of the Advocate General. The facts date back to July 2018.

The 27-year-old young woman, who was from Villeurbanne (Rhône), had a tumultuous romantic relationship with the accused; a seven-month relationship interspersed with several breakups. A few days before his death, the victim had decided to break up. On July 27, her body was found at the bottom of a cliff located in the town of Saint-Germain-la-Chambotte, where she worked at that time.

No remorse in court

The two lovers had met near the belvedere, a few minutes earlier, to have an explanation. After tipping the young woman into the void, thirty meters below, the accused finished her off by kicking her several times in the head and body, noted The Dauphine Libere.

Described at the bar as a “cold-blooded, reptilian animal”, the forties did not express the slightest remorse during his trial.
