Drama on “And Just Like That…”: Sara Ramírez should no longer be part of the series. The reasons for the alleged dismissal are unclear.

Former “Grey’s Anatomy” star According to media reports, Sara Ramírez (48) will not return for the third season of “And Just Like That…”. Since the start of the “Sex and the City” revival in 2021, Ramírez played the non-binary character Che Diaz, who lives with Carrie’s (Sarah Jessica Parker, 58) best friend Miranda (Cynthia Nixon, 57) after her separation from husband Steve ( David Eigenberg, 59) began a relationship. The reasons for Ramírez’s alleged departure from the US series are still unclear.

Was Sara Ramírez fired for protesting the Gaza war?

So Ramírez himself bet a few days ago an Instagram post, in which the US film and series industry is accused of putting actors on so-called blacklists if they publicly support the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip. In the social media post, Ramírez calls Israel’s war effort in the area a “genocide” and the US media industry “hypocritical.”

Anyone who is on a blacklist in Hollywood will generally no longer receive lucrative engagements in major film and series productions. Ramírez had spoken out against Israel’s combat mission several times since the start of fighting in Gaza over 100 days ago, and also took part in protests and demonstrations against the Gaza war.

“Waste of airtime”

However, Ramírez’s version of events is contradicted by anonymous sources close to the Max series “And Just Like That…”. Accordingly, Ramírez was fired not because of political views, but because the character Che Diaz “did not contribute anything to the show anymore.” as “Daily Mail” reports. “After Che broke up with Miranda, the character really had no value and fans found her annoying,” the statement continued. For the rest of the series, Ramírez’s character would no longer have been “a central part of the plot.”

Neither the US streaming service Max nor Ramírez himself have yet officially confirmed the series’ exit. The third season of “And Just Like That…” is scheduled to appear on Max in 2025 after the writers’ and actors’ strike slowed production on the series in 2024.
