23-year-old Spanish novice Jorge Martin (Ducati-Pramac) won his first MotoGP race from pole on Sunday at the Grand Prix in Styria, Austria, the tenth round of the season.
He shares the podium with the Spaniard Joan Mir (Suzuki) and the French Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), who increases his lead at the top of the drivers’ standings from 34 to 40 points after a race interrupted by an impressive accident: Jorge Pedrosa crashed at turn 3, several competitors narrowly avoided him, but Lorenzo Savadori (Aprilia) crashed into his motorcycle.

The Italian slipped and his mount caught fire, also setting the KTM ablaze. Out on a stretcher but conscious, Savadori limped back to his truck in the paddock. Unlike Pedrosa, he did not take the second start around 40 minutes later.

The second Frenchman Johann Zarco (Ducati-Pramac) finished 6th on the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg and kept his 2nd place in the world championship. We will also remember the 8th position of the Spaniard Marc Marquez (Honda), the 10th of his compatriot Dani Pedrosa (KTM), involved in the accident which interrupted the race, and the 13th of the Italian Valentino Rossi (Yamaha- SRT), who announced Thursday that he will retire at the end of the season.
