Thierry Henry appointed coach of the France Espoirs team

As announced in our columns in recent days, Thierry Henry is the new coach of Espoirs, and will lead the France team during the Paris Olympic Games (July 24-August 11, 2024). At 46, the former striker of the Blues (123 selections, 51 goals) was chosen by the executive committee of the FFF on Monday.

At 4 p.m., President Philippe Diallo, from the headquarters of the Federation in Paris, brought together the comex. 12 of the 14 members were present, most by videoconference. The choice of the former coach of Monaco (October 2018-January 2019) and Montreal (November 2019-February 2021) was validated unanimously against finalist Sabri Lamouchi. The latter also made a strong impression during the interviews. Thierry Henry will have to give a first list in 10 days, for the September gathering with the 2002 generation.
